The Creation Care Competition is designed to engage and mobilize primary school students in western Kenya in “Creation Care” through education, tree planting and environmental stewardship.

The Competition is a 1-year tree planting and education competition for primary schools (grades 1 to 8).  8 schools participate for one year and Competition winners are selected on multiple factors:

  • Student, teacher and parent engagement

  • Tree planting / growth success

  • Christian Religious Education (CRE)

  • Environmental education

  • Science and Math curriculum integration

Participating primary schools provide:

  • Land for growing trees

  • Leadership and oversight

  • Education development

  • Quarterly progress reports

  • No inorganic chemicals are allowed

As the competition sponsor, the Jubilee Village Project provides:

  • Tree seedlings of 5 varieties:

    • 20 grevellea

    • 8 moringa

    • 8 grafted mango

    • 8 paw paw fruit

    • 8 avocado

  • 3 English Bibles (1 for teachers, 2 for students)

Creation Care Competition winners receive a monetary environmental grant for their school: 1st Place - KSH 30,000 ($300) and 2nd Place - KSH 10,000 ($100).
